Feral Cat Decided For Herself She Wanted To Live With People And Moved Herself In

Who can understand cats? Many have tried to understand cats, and many studies on cats have been conducted… All of those cat studies came to a similar conclusion: cats simply do what they want when they want,

As humans looking at our cats, we often view these actions as examples of “cat logic,” and some of these cats are just adorable. Here is one example of such a cat story.

A feral cat came to a house she chose and this feral act “requested” to be domesticated. The humans gladly took the kitty in, and she is still there today.

A Tumblr blogger posted this adorable cat story, and it’s clear that the once feral kitty is very happy in her forever home. Honestly, this cat has the best care in the world, and maybe (but just maybe), even got a little bit spoiled (like all cats should)… Check it out.

The cat was born in a feral cat group, but according to one Tumblr user, she chose to domesticate herself

The author wrote that the cat invited herself into their family

Molly DeVoss, a certified feline training and behavior specialist, says that feral cats can develop trust over time. “They learn that the person feeding them is reliable, predictable, and not going to harm them.”

Molly also said that community cat characters span from truly feral (cat without any human interaction) to a neighbor’s outdoor cat. Still, “many people mistake community cats for feral when they are actually a neighbor’s cat looking for a better meal and companionship.”

It looks like the cat is very happy with her decision

Molly explained that even though domesticating a feral cat is a lengthy process, it can be done. “Over time, a feral cat can discover that a person can be depended upon, provide a good meal and warm place to stay, and begin to show their appreciation with tenderness.”

Some people suggested that this is how cats got tamed in the first place

A 2017 study on domesticated cats published in “Nature Ecology & Evolution” indicated that cats lived for thousands of years alongside people even before they were tamed. The current theories say that cats started spending time around farmers about 8,000 years ago as they saw raising mouse and rat populations.

Claudio Ottoni from the University of Leuven says that “It’s not that humans took some cats and put them inside cages,” contrary to common belief. “Instead, people more or less allowed cats to domesticate themselves.”

People wanted more pictures, and the author shared more photos of the cat named Ghost

Feral and domestic cats have no differences in their genetic makeup, but one of the few unique traits are the coat markings. Blotched or striped fur patterns emerged in tame tabby cats in the Middle Ages.

Eva-Maria Geig, the evolutionary geneticist, says that cats became peoples’ companions without changing much, unlike dogs. Dogs were bred to gain certain qualities.

This Squirrel Is So Thirsty, He Approached A Man To Ask For Some Water

This is a fascinating story of how a man helped a weakened squirrel recuperate.

Jomar Robles, a landscaper in Dallas, Texas, was suddenly approached by a small animal while he was on the job. Unfortunately, it seemed that the little one needed some help.

The squirrel came near the landscaper on a hot March day. Robles is an animal lover. He thought that if a wild animal approaches a human, then there must be something wrong.

He was walking when the squirrel saw him. She followed the landscaper, and so Robles gave her water. According to him, the lovely squirrel was extremely thirsty.

Robles opened his bottled water and knelt to give the poor little one some water.

The squirrel placed her paws on his hand, taking small sips. The gesture seemed to tell him to keep going.

After she’s done drinking, Robles petted her and tried to gave her some more.

But instead of drinking, she climbed Robles’s arm to let him pat her some more.

Robles noticed that the poor little thing needed to get away from the sun, so he took her home. He gave the squirrel a comfy spot to rest and fed her with healthy snacks.

On the day Robles took the squirrel home, she rested a lot.

Robles told his wife that he would set the squirrel free so she can make more friends with her own kind. The squirrel looked well the next day.

So he brought her back to the place her he found her. Then, she was released.

Robles was sad to let her go, but he knew that the beautiful squirrel needs to be where she belongs.

The little one took a last glance at Robles before climbing a tree and that was the last time they saw each other. Still, Robles knows she appreciated his simple deed.

Cats Transform Before Our Eyes In Incredible Before And After Adoption Photos

Nearly 3.2 million cats arrive at U.S. animal shelters each year, of which around 1.6 million cats eventually get adopted. Adopting cats isn’t just about providing a shelter but providing a new life for cats.

That’s something these suffering cats deserve so much. All suffering animals deserve love, these cats included.

Most of these cats have been through a lot – they’ve suffered cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. One of the places that honor cats getting their new homes is the subreddit r/BeforeNAfterAdoption.

There, owners share their emotional stories and photos of their new kitty family members. Before-and-after-adoption photos are some of the best proof of how love and care can transform a poor, hurting animal into a majestic and proud kitty cat.

It’s estimated that around 35% of all households in the US have a cat. Sadly, some families weren’t really prepared to have a pet, so the poor cats were neglected, forced to live in bad conditions, and finally abandoned.

Keeping a pet is a great responsibility, cats included, and people tend to forget that when they first see those cute furballs. Very often, people lose interest when their pets grow up.

American Humane Society and ASPCA have checklists for all people who consider keeping a pet. It will help them to figure out if they are really ready for a pet.

Missing African Serval Cat Is Reunited With His Owners After Spending 3 Days In The Wild

An African serval cat named Spartacus has been reunited with his owners after escaping from his home in Merrimack, New Hampshire and spending three days in the wild.

Dean King, the big cat’s owner, said that Spartacus could be skittish around strangers and had run away on Wednesday after getting spooked by Hank the family dog. The family tried to look for him in the woods near their home and contacted Merrimack Police Department to call for help.

“The dog didn’t want to come in last night. So my wife opened the front door. The dog and the cat spooked each other and off he went. He’s gone,”

Dean told AP News.On Friday, the police revealed that the four-year-old wild cat was trapped near its home and was in good health. After three whole days spent in the New Hampshire wild, the serval was found safe and sound.

“Good Morning Merrimack! The serval cat that was missing has been found. It was trapped near its home and is in good health. It’s been reunited with its owner. Thank you for all the interest and shares,” the police announced the good news on Facebook.

According to Merrimack’s animal control officer Haylie Gulino, the search was pretty tricky because she along with her fellow officers had never seen a case like this before and were not sure what to look for.

“They had no idea; I had to show them a picture of what they normally look like. So, like I said, this was uncharted territory. It was out of the norm for most people here,” Haylie Gulino told the Daily Mail.

The beautiful 40-pound cat was legally adopted from a Florida zoo four years ago. For the past few years, he has been living happily with his family. It’s worth mentioning that the family owns the cat legally and has a permit from New Hampshire’s department of fish and game.

A photo of Spartacus machine with his paws up on the kitchen counter, busy inspecting the coffee machine, has gone viral on social media.

Lisa King, Dean’s wife, posted a video of Spartacus perched in his enclosure on Saturday and thanked people for their support and care.

“So mixed feelings, such as beautiful animal and relieved it is safe back home, also wondering why this cat is living as domestic pet. Hoping it is safe and happy, and that keeping wild cats as pets isn’t common, and where it’s need rarely because of circumstance, that the cats are happy and safe,” a woman commented on the post

“I personally can’t express my gratitude enough! I have a bond with this cat and he is my person.”

Man Was Driving Back Home When He Heard ‘Desperate’ Cry For Help And Couldn’t Say No

A man was driving his car after finishing his job while he heard some terribly desperate meows in the fence near the roadside.

He decided to stop his car to check what is going on. When he came closer to the fence, there was a poor kitty who was really in trouble. The cat was stuck at the fence but it wasn’t easy getting him out!

The first thing he did was call 911 to get help but he waited for a few hours and no one came. Finally, he decided to help the kitty himself and took the cat to the Arizona Humane Society.

The kitten had surgery for his jaw and paws and now is recovering very well. Thankfully, the man told the humane society that he wanted to adopt the cat he named Freeway.

This is a wonderful story. Don’t forget to share his wonderful deed with your friends and family!

Heartbroken Cat Has Spent 1 Year Crying Next To His Owner’s Grave

A cute kitten loved her owner so much she couldn’t bear to leave her side. A year has passed since this cat’s owner passed away, but the kitty hasn’t left her old lady’s grave. Passer-by Keli Keningau Prayitno, 28 years old, tried to adopt the cat but that didn’t work – the next day the feline returned her owner’s grave as usual – nuzzling the small blue headstone. Remarkably, the cat walks every day to her former home where the old lady’s children feed her – then returns to the grave. Despite being given food and water by passers-by, but the cat refuses to leave the grave to roll in the earth and sleep at the grave every night.

“She sleeps there and meows, it shows just how close animals are to their owners.” Keli said. And who said cats don’t have feelings for their owners? Please share this heartbroken story with friends to let them know that cats are loyal companions as well.

Stray Tomcats Become Brothers After Meeting Each Other For The First Time

When Paris met Dan the stray cat, he fell in love with him instantly. Dan must have been one of those street cats that everyone looks after because he is just so friendly.

He seemed perfectly happy, but in fact, he was lonely and needed friends. For this reason, he often went to the door, rolled on his back, and chirped at the street cats.

Dale came to the shelter in the same situation as Dan. He was a street cat covered in fight wounds. Besides, he had a large burst abscess on his forehead that needed an emergency surgery.

That’s part of the reason he has such a sad face and unique eyes. People always say that he looks so sad, but he is the happiest boy ever.

When Paris brought Dale home, he was worried about the two cats interacting too soon. They kissed each other and played together. They got along fine. Dan started grooming Dale and the wound on his head. It was just a perfect match.

They’re just two best bros.

Abandoned Cat Won’t Stop Kissing His New Mom On Her Nose

As animal lovers, we hate ignorant and irresponsible owners who abandon their pets and leave them to fend for themselves on the streets. Luckily, there are still many kind people out there who are willing to save them and give them a second chance in life.

On a sunny afternoon last month, a kind-hearted woman found a cat hiding under her son’s car in a parking lot. The cat was hiding from 100-degree heat and was cooling himself off by lying on a concrete pavement that was covered by the car.

The woman immediately got in touch with Cats of San Bernardino, a non-profit organization based in San Bernardino, California, to help the poor animal.

The rescuers then rushed to the parking lot and checked the cat’s situation. Luckily for them, the cat was not feral, so they easily touched him and picked him up

“He was just like “Please, someone take me,” Jaina, from Cats of San Bernardino, told The Dodo. “He just allowed to be picked up and he wasn’t moving.”

The rescuers gently coaxed the poor cat into the carrier and took him to the vet to be examined. At first, they thought that the cat was a female but then they discovered that he was a male.

“We thought the cat was a female cause he was so malnourished and he’d already been neutered.”

Everyone deduced that his previous owners moved away and abandoned him. They left him outside and he was left to fend for himself. That’s the reason why he was so skinny with a lot of matted fur and bald patches.

He had a bald patch on his forehead that extended to one eye. The vets also found a swollen part that made one of his eyes only half-opened.

We had the abscess on his forehead looked at. We started him on some antibiotics.”

Jaina and Ivy, who were also volunteers of the CSB organization, named the cat Valentino and helped him heal.

“He just wanted to give everyone an update and let everyone know he is doing good. He is responding well to the antibiotics. Inflammations is basically completely gone. He’s gaining weight and getting stronger. He’s got new hair growing back.”

“Obviously, we are busy so we have a lot of other kitties to care for. So Valentino’s gonna be looking for a home. It’s gonna have to be, obviously the perfect home for him. Someone that’s home a lot, spends a lot of time with him, will be able to hold him a lot of the time. He will love to be with someone where he gets 100% of the attention.”
