The Colorado Springs Fire Department is used to getting SOS calls, but there was nothing that could have prepared them for what was going to happen. A team was deployed to the site, and they worked hard to get 8 puppies to safety. A couple of hours later, they came to the realization that things were not as they seemed. It turned out that those puppies were hiding a secret that they could not have predicted.

Response Time

To reach people and help those in need as quickly as possible, the Colorado Springs Fire Department has emergency response resources across the city. By doing this, they can get to any part of the city in only 8 minutes most of the time.

 

Equipment

To help out the citizens, the fire department made sure to get the best equipment for any situation imaginable. The CSFD boasts 22 engine companies, 6 truck companies, 3 medical squads, a hazmat team, and a HeavyHazmat team. Not only that, but the department also has 11 brush trucks, an air supply truck, a hazardous materials decontamination vehicle, and a hose wagon. They can dispatch these units and pieces of equipment when there are emergencies.

The CSFD got a call about animals in need of rescue. A couple of minutes later, a team was sent to answer that call. They knew that they could help out the poor animals more quickly if they got there sooner. Not once did they think that the rescue would be so unique.

When it comes to rescuing and helping animals, there are certain precautions that one must take. Animals have different behaviors and mannerisms, which means that they can react differently when faced with danger. There are those that act more aggressively when they feel like they are in danger. This is the reason the firefighters follow a set of rules to ensure both their safety and that of the animals.
