Puppy Born With Six Legs And Two Tails Survived Miraculously And Is Still Thriving

There are still many people born with unexpected birth defects in this world. Some are welcome and loved, some are hated for their differences. And animals are just the same. Skipper is an example of such a circumstance. The special puppy born with six legs and two tails was rejected by her own mom.

Neel Veterinary Hospital

The Aussie and Collie mix was born naturally on February 16 in Oklahoma alongside eight siblings. While all of her brothers and sisters were healthy and perfectly normal, Skipper’s situation was a little different. Even her mom abandoned her, so the tiny kitten was taken to Neel Veterinary Hospital for more proper medical care.

People believe Skipper is the very first one of her kind to survive, and they call her a “miracle.”

“This is a miracle named Skipper. Literally. She has survived longer than we suspect any other canine has (at just 4 days old – published research does not indicate one has been born alive) with her combination of congenital conditions,” the hospital introduced Skipper to the whole world through their Facebook page.

So, what exactly had happened that made Skipper so strange and unusual? According to the veterinarians at the hospital, it seemed like an egg in the cat mother’s womb was likely to split into twin but did not succeed completely, and the rare dog was the result of that process.

Thanks to her own will and the timely medical treatment, Skipper has overcome the predicament and is still thriving. The little girl also has duplicate organs from her waist down, but luckily they are still working properly.

Neel Veterinary Hospital

Skipper is now getting plenty of love and many people are praying for her. Some still show concern about her health, but her carers have confirmed that Skipper “is a happy and healthy puppy. She isn’t in any pain and she isn’t expected to be.” So, obviously we have nothing to worry about, at least by now.

Regarding her life ahead, Neel Veterinary Hospital announced on Facebook that they “do not plan on putting her down since there is no indication she is in pain or will be.” The vets expect Skipper to live a full happy life, and they have no idea what will come in the future so they are “expecting a journey”.

The hospital also created a Facebook page for people to keep up with Skipper, which has attracted over 55 thousand followers so far.

Meet Monty, The Cat With Down Syndrome That’s Capturing Hearts Around The World!

The internet has fallen in love with Monty, a very special cat with a huge heart and an adorable personality. You see, the cat has Down syndrome, but that doesn’t stop the beautiful feline from enjoying life to its fullest. The cat was living in an animal shelter when Michael Bjørn, and his partner, Mikala Klein found her and decided to adopt her. The two felt an instant connection to the cat and knew Monty was the right cat for them. No one before them showed any interest when it comes to adopting the cat simply because he looks different. Luckily, Monty now has a happy home and gets plenty of love and attention.

Michael Bjørn, and his partner, Mikala Klein from Rødovre outside Copenhagen in Denmark were looking to adopt a new cat.

So they visited a local shelter to see what they could find. That’s where they discovered a small cat – unlike any other they had ever seen.

Little did they expect the feline would capture their hearts forever.

His name is Monty.

He’d been at the shelter for quite a long time, with no one interested in adopting him. The reason? He looks a little… different.

But this couple instantly clicked with the unique-looking cat.

“We met him briefly and we were soon in love with him. We felt that he chose us,” Michael Bjørn told a local newspaper.

Once adopted and moved in however, the couple noticed that his behavior was also quite unique. For one thing, he would pee in his sleep.

They consulted a vet and were told that this behavior is common among older cats, who may regularly be unable to control their pee at random times.

But Monty was not very old and was only peeing now and then in his sleep.

They wondered if it was Monty’s way of marking his territory in the family since they had other cats at home. They decided to ask some friends who had no other pets to keep him for a while and see how it went, but that soon proved to not go so well.

“When we tried to drop him off, Mikala (Michael’s partner) was so sad that she couldn’t let him go. It was terribly embarrassing, but we had to take him back home,” Michael said.

They finally discovered, however, what made Monty so special: a chromosome abnormality was behind the peeing issue, among other things.

“There is little research on chromosomal abnormalities in animals, but you can compare it a bit with Down’s Syndrome in humans,” Michael explains.

But the small abnormality doesn’t otherwise really affect Monty’s behavior. According to Michael, he is just as playful as other cats.

“Monty is especially silly, playful, and always happy, just like a kitten, although he is five years old. He is incredibly gentle and very attached to me. He insists on sleeping between my legs every single night,” Michael said.

Monty is not only popular in his own family, he also has a following, with his own Facebook page and over 135,000 followers. There’s now even a collection of clothes and toys with a “Monty-logo” that fans can buy!

The proceeds from the sales go to the shelter where Monty once lived – Cat Værn.

I think Monty is a serious superstar and his popularity is well deserved! SHARE his wonderful story if you agree!

Workers Saved “Dog” From Freezing River, Only To Found Out It Wasn’t A Dog At All

Life is full of surprises and you’ll never know what will happen in the next minute. Even when you think you’re ready for all the possibilities, there’re still so many things you just can’t imagine. For example, a wolf inside your vehicle.

It started as a perfectly normal day for three Estonian dam workers Rando Kartsepp, Robin Sillamäe, and Erki Väli, until something in the nearly-frozen Pärnu River caught their eye. It was a dog, struggling helplessly in the icy water.

The kind-hearted men rapidly rushed to the river without a second thought to save the miserable animal. They quickly took him out of the river and wrapped him in a thick blanket. It was not until then that they had the chance to see him more clearly. He was a big dog with piercing yellow eyes, a nice-looking dog! Apparently it was the thick fur that helped him endure so long in the freezing water.

However, the dog was shivering and in poor condition. He had survived the drowning, but he wasn’t completely off the hook yet. His temperature dropped too low and he was facing the risk of hypothermia. Knowing the animal still needed help, the merciful men dropped their work again to take him to a veterinary clinic for more proper care.

After putting the trembling dog in their pickup truck, the workers called the local animal hospital and were instructed to bring the dog there as soon as possible. During that time, the canine fell asleep along the way, he even rested his head on Kartepp’s lap and closed his eyes to recharge his battery.

As soon as they got to the hospital, the vets were there. That’s when the problem arose. And no, the problem wasn’t his health, it was his identity.

The vets couldn’t identify the breed of the dog, so they decided to call a local hunter to ask if he could help them do the job. The experienced hunter knew exactly what he was dealing with. It turned out the survivor actually wasn’t a domestic dog, it was a wolf!

postimees

All of the workers and the vets were surprised by the hunter’s confirmation. To tell the truth, they all knew the dog was exceptional because of its strange appearance, but none of them suspected it was a wolf. Especially the workers, as they already kept the wolf in their vehicle without any leash! The wild wolf could easily hurt them if he wanted, or even worse.

Thankfully, the wolf was truly docile. Maybe he was just too weak to do so, or maybe he was aware of the fact that these men had saved his life. But the calmness obviously won’t last long.

Yes, the wolf was just waiting to find a good chance to reveal his true personality. After the one-year-old animal managed to regain his strength, it began to behave like any normal wolf would do, so the vets had to put him in a cage for the safety of everyone, including the wolf himself.

Finally, when the wolf fully recovered, they decided to let him come back to the wild – where he belonged. To ensure that the wolf would stay safe for a long time, the Estonian National Environmental Agency even equipped him with a GPS collar to trace his location.

The moment the wolf was released from his cage, he ran with lightning speed and disappeared into the white field! Kartsepp and the others gave him one last goodbye, ending their unforgettable story.

Updated: A month after being rescued, the wolf was spotted again in perfect shape in the wild, just over 70 miles from where he was released. It seemed like this handsome guy was doing very well. Good luck, boy!

Wonderful Goose Becomes The Proud Nanny Of Her Bestie’s Puppies

Interspecies friendships are always among one of the most unbelievable yet amazing things that happen to this world.

In fact, animals don’t see any type of difference the method humans do. All they see is simply a being standing before them, treating them sincerely, loving them unconditionally. And that’s what real friends are for.

Wonderful Goose Becomes The Proud Nanny Of Her Bestie's Puppies

The dog and the goose in this tale are a fantastic example, their unique friendship will heat up your heart for certain. The goose was rescued by the dog’s owner when she was just a small baby, but the size doesn’t stop the Samoyed from falling in love with her two-legged friend. Their bond bloomed right at that moment and just gets stronger with time.

As time passes, the not likely duo continues to grow up side by side. The floof always maintains her eyes on the gosling, and the gosling likes to socialize with her furry companion also. They eat, sleep, play together, they do all the important things human best friends would enjoy to do! The two are so close that in some cases it looks like they forget there is still a poodle in the house.

Saved Dog That Was In The Bones Transforms Remarkably

Barilla, a stray dog rescued from the streets, was featured in a film by the Spanish not-for-profit Dog Home Pet Shelter.

We can observe the tremendous metamorphosis of this canine, who is now rather pleased, in the same video. Barilla was so weak and starved when she got to the shelter in Granada, Spain, that her bones were visible via her skin and her interior organs were on the verge of failing. The shelter’s owner, Eduardo Rodriguez, was identified to conserve her.

Edward stated,” “I’ve been rescuing dogs since I was a youngster, and I’m used to seeing them in awful health, but Barilla was the worst I have actually ever before seen.” She had actually been without water or nourishment for as long that she could only relocate her head and tail when we saved her “.

Edward stated,” “His progress has been incredible. Many regular pets would certainly have died, the vet informed us several times. We are now intertwined. I notified my coworkers the first day I met her that I was going to stay with her, and that has been the case since.

She Lost Her 4 Legs, Her Tail, And Her Ears, However This Cat Got A Second Chance To Be Happy

In Siberia, Russia, the winter can bring serious frosts capable of putting the lives of both people and animals at risk.

This is the story of a cat named “Dymka” (from its Russian translation of ‘fog’) that was a victim of the cold weather lashing of Russia, and due to it she lost her arm or legs. Fortunately, thanks to advancements in modern technology and the provision of big-hearted veterinarians, she had the ability to walk once again

According to what is claimed, this cat was found by a driver in the cold roads of Novokuznetsk in Siberia. The man seeking to help this poor animal took her to the Novosibirsk clinic situated in the city of the same name. There, it was located that Dymka struggled with frostbite on both her limbs, her tail and her ears, after having been subjected to the ruthless Siberian cold for a long time.

The pros went to work to make Dymka walk again.

Because the problem in which the cat reached the clinic, it was required to amputate her front and rear legs. However, the professionals of the clinic where Dymka was received, got down to work together with the researchers of the TPU (Tomsk Polytechnic College) to develop the 4-year-old feline, a titanium prosthesis that would allow her to return to lead a normal life.

It was thus that, after using state-of-the-art technology, such as CT scans of Dymka’s paws, and using calcium phosphate together with the 3D-printed titanium implants (which were combined with the cat’s leg bones), they were able to place the first implants in her front legs successfully and later on they did it in her back legs.

After greater than six months of this important treatment, it can currently be seen just how Dymka had the ability to regain nearly complete movement with her titanium legs. In a video shared on YouTube by the clinic that treated the cat’s case, the feline can be seen stretching, walking and also playing as if she had never ever lost her arm or legs, her titanium legs being flexible and with a black textured background.

It must be noted that until now Dymka has been the 2nd cat in the world that has undergone a treatment such as this. The first was performed in 2016 on a cat named Ryzhik (red), who after losing her limbs underwent this surgery to restore movement.

During the cold weather snowfalls in winter, lots of pet cats and other pets reveal situations of frostbite in the cities of Siberia. Frostbite occurs when the extreme cold of winter freezes the skin and internal tissues, usually the extremities, in some cases causing the death of claimed tissues, and forcing their amputation to conserve life.

If you have pets and you live in a location where there are extremely cold seasons, attempt to take all the required care to prevent them from being exposed to situations as dangerous to their lives as this one.

See a Bald Eagle and Octopus Tangled in Legendary Fight

The huge cephalopod was winning until the people stepped in, Bald eagles are excellent hunters. They can swoop alongside a cliff and grab a mountain goat or nose-dive toward a river to capture a salmon.

Mowi/YouTube

This week, nevertheless, one starving eagle may have bit off more than it could chew when it misjudged the size of its unlikely target, a huge Pacific octopus. When the eagle dove in to tried to pull the octopus out of the water, it instead got plucked out of the skies.

Lucky for us, salmon fishermen in British Columbia caught the results on cam.

Alisha Ebrahimji at CNN records that a group of salmon fishermen used by Mowi West salmon ranches near Quatsino on the northwestern coast of Vancouver Island were motoring home when they heard screeching and splashing. Crew member John Ilett says when they quit to investigate, they located the fight in progress, with “a full-sized eagle submerged in the water with a big giant octopus in the water trying to drag it down.”

Mowi/YouTube

” We weren’t sure if we must interfere because it is nature, survival of the fittest,” Ilett says. ” However it was heart wrenching– to see this octopus was attempting to sink this eagle.”

CBC’s Bridgette Watson reports that the team did choose to intervene. While one of his crewmates recorded, Illet got a pike pole and peeled the octopus off the raptor. “That gave the eagle just enough time to break free and swim to shore,” Illet tells her.

The octopus dove down into the water while the eagle sat on a branch on shore for 10 mins, drying off and restoring its calmness, prior to returning to the skies.

The huge Pacific octopus is the largest octopus in the world and can reach 600 pounds and 30 feet in length. On average, however, they weigh in at around 110 pounds. The eagles evaluate between 6.5 and 14 pounds.

Jennifer Mather, a cephalopod specialist at the University of Lethbridge, is naturally on team octopus. “He [Illet] deprived the poor octopus of a good meal,” she jokingly tells Leyland Cecco at The Guardian.

Octopuses, she says, are generalists, meaning they will certainly eat almost anything available, even if it’s covered in feathers and has huge talons. “They’re quite large in their victim choice,” she claims. “If something is on the surface of the water, and the octopus is close to the surface of the water, it’s food.”

In fact, this is not the very first time an octopus has actually gotten a bird for dinner. In 2012, one more person on Vancouver Island took a series of pictures of an octopus gobbling up a gull.

Locating a bald eagle swimming in the water isn’t unprecedented either. The eagles hunt for fish in open water, swooping down and grasping their meal in their powerful talons. However, sometimes, if they hook into a fish that is a little also large to fly off with, they’ll opt to hang onto their catch and swim it back to coast, utilizing the bird version of the breast stroke, reports Merrit Kennedy at NPR. Other times, the birds mistime their strike and end up in the water, forcing them to swim to coast.

Illet tells Ebrahimji that over 20 years on the water he’s seen great deals of interesting points, but this is the coolest. “It’s moments similar to this why I enjoy my job and being out in the environment where I can work and live,” he claimed. “It’s just incredible.”

Baby Elephant Has A Great Time Struggling In Bathtub

The elephant is probably one of the most adorable animals in the whole world – they are sweet, they are calm, they are friendly, they are social, and they are affectionate towards humans. Being around elephants is always a fun experience that you’ll remember.

Let’s take a look at this cute video of a Thai baby elephant enjoying just what he loves – taking a bath. If you have a soft spot for animals, the little boy surely will brighten up your day.

Uploaded by a tourist named Claus Jørgensen, the video starts when the not-so-small boy plunges head-first into the tub excitedly while his mother cheering him up behind, making everyone around couldn’t help but laugh out loud. The baby elephant has a little trouble making himself comfortable in the tiny tub, but he seems to love the water so much.

The young mammal then manages to get out, but the next time he gets into the tub isn’t any easier, it’s even more miserable – he falls.

But after a quick glance at his mother nearby, the boy stands up immediately. He goes out again and determines on getting into the bathtub – in the right way this time.

The third time is still a struggle, but he makes it! The elephant has a lot of fun kicking his legs, making the water splash everywhere.

After a short break, the baby elephant dives into the orange bathtub again and this time, he is helped by two blond tourists. However, our little boy decides he doesn’t need help. He takes the hose, and runs away hilariously.

Baby Racoons Got Rescued And Came Back To Mama’s Arm

Maternal love is unconditional and irreplaceable, even in animals. Once an animal gives birth to her children, their bond is also born right away and won’t ever be changed. And when something bad happens, these brave moms will never leave their kids behind.

This heart-warming story took place not so long ago in Canada, when three baby racoons got stuck on a rooftop. Hearing about the situation, the AAA Gate’s Wildlife Control got on the road quickly. When the team showed up at the scene, they spotted the racoon mother standing right there.

Screenshot, Gates Wildlife Control

Their technician Nick embarked on rescuing the baby raccoons patiently and carefully one by one with his tools, while the mama insisted on not leaving the rooftop.

Thankfully, all of the babies were safe.

After making sure that all of her kids were okay, the racoon mom immediately took the first one away. Nick tried to help the mother, but being a wild animal, the girl seemed to be alert in front of humans and refused any aid.

Screenshot, Gates Wildlife Control

The rescue team wanted to put the others in heated boxes to keep them warm. But apparently, the mother didn’t think so! She returned in a flash.

“The mother seems to be really interested in getting her babies back right away,” said one of the rescuers. “So Gate’s Wildlife technician Nick decided to try to give the babies back while he was still on site, and let’s see how it goes.”

Screenshot, Gates Wildlife Control

The racoon mother carried her babies one by one in her mouth to different locations. She still didn’t trust humans, so none of the rescuers tried to approach the girl. They put each of the newborns near the fence, so their mama could come back and take care of her kids.

And she did a fascinating job! Such a strong and loving girl!

He Thought He Brought Home a Domestic Puppy, But Was Shocked to Find Out It Was A Wild Animal

Dogs are a part of many people’s lives, providing protection, loyalty, and friendship. If you can’t resist petting a dog, you know how hard it is to resist petting a puppy! This story is about a puppy someone brought home that looked like a dog, but turned out to be something else entirely! Read on to find out what happened to this animal.

An 18-year-old college student from Tucson, Arizona, found a puppy in a shopping cart in a parking lot. He asked his parents if he could keep that animal. Little did they know that the animal wasn’t a dog. They said yes.

The student’s parents thought it would teach him responsibility to care for the animal, and besides — they loved dogs and wanted to rescue this one from a life on the streets of Tucson. Their son named the dog “Neo,” after the main character in The Matrix, a science-fiction movie.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

Neo wasn’t exactly well-behaved, and seemed more like a wild, feral dog than a puppy that needed a home. Neo went to the bathroom in the student’s care, and would not let anyone else pet him or give him affection. Neo wanted affection from the student all the time! He was extremely loyal.

Whenever the student was at school or work, Neo was beside himself waiting for him to come home. The son’s parents tried everything they could think of to convince Neo that they loved him, too, but Neo was having none of it!

Finally, the parents were forced to put Neo in the backyard, hoping he would enjoy running around and barking along the fence at the neighbors dogs.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

Neo wasn’t a dog, though, so he didn’t do any of those things. What he did do was, escape! And escape often. Neo clearly didn’t like being penned up in the family’s backyard.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

He constantly bothered the neighbors, digging savagely until he could get out under the fence, or jumping clean over it to get away. Neo’s actions weren’t normal for a well-trained dog, but they were normal for what he was.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

The student and his family watched Neo as he grew up, sensing that something was a bit strange about the long lost puppy they’d rescued from a shopping cart. Neo wasn’t trying to make them angry, or harass the neighbors, but he sure didn’t act like a normal dog.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

Neo continued his escape tricks, and was extremely athletic. The family thought he might have some German Shepherd in him. German Shepherds have long noses, large, upstanding ears, and long, bushy tails. They are also very athletic and like to race around and play. They are the second most popular dog breed in the AKC.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

Neo’s favorite thing to do once he’d escaped the backyard was go visit the dogs next door, who just happened to be German Shepherds. Neo didn’t want attention from anyone except his master, unless it was another dog!

cdn.lifebuzz.com

The German Shepherds next door were also fond of Neo, although their owners didn’t feel the same about him. They considered Neo a nuisance, and the two neighbors began to have problems. No one guessed why Neo behaved the way he did until later.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

So that Neo didn’t run away, the neighbors were kind enough to bring him back to their house whenever they noticed that he’d escaped. They held him there until his master or the student’s parents came home.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

No matter how nicely they treated him, Neo never wanted to make friends with them, and seemed to consider then the real nuisance. After all, they were wrecking his escape and socializing plans over and over. Neo lay on the floor or in the corner of the yard, eyeing them suspiciously when they tried to give him treats. Usually, he hid in the bathroom.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

After Neo’s repeated escape attempts, the family had to try something else. They built an enormous, strong fence, that cost them a pretty penny in an effort to keep Neo in the backyard. Neo wasn’t fazed — he knew a challenge when he saw one! He began plotting escape.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

Neo chewed through the fence, devastating his family and distressing the neighbors. His master couldn’t believe how strong his teeth and jaws were! Neo went directly to his pals’ house again, happily sniffing around them.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

Unfortunately for Neo, the neighbors were done being patient. The next time he escaped, Neo was taken to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. The family wanted Neo to get help, and their neighbors to get some advice on how to control their dog.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

Neo stayed at shelter until his family came to pick him up. It was then that Maureen O’Nell ran into Neo in the shelter and realized something no one else had for Neo’s entire life.

sirensandscoundrels.files.wordpress.com

O’Nell let the family know. “You know that’s not a dog, right?” she asked them when they appeared at the shelter. “That’s a wolf.” As realization dawned, O’Nell smiled patiently. They turned their eyes to Neo, and suddenly it all made sense.

goodnewsnetwork.org

Neo had the same markings as a wolf, was skinnier and more powerful than the average dog (even a German Shepherd), a rough coat, and distinctive amber eyes that glowed brightly at night.

cdn.lifebuzz.com

Unfortunately, no one in Arizona can own a wolf unless they are Native American or have a special permit. The shelter couldn’t take Neo in to care for him without reporting him.

i.ytimg.com

The family was heartbroken, so O’Nell found the Wolf Connection in California, a group who cared for wolves and wolf-hybrids. After his usual escape antics, Neo settled into the pack just fine, and is still there today.
